UPDATED SKIN CARE ROUTINE

Ever since my move to Melbourne I have been on the hunt for the perfect skin care routine. It has been a lot of trial and error (and a few tears when my skin would break out from all the products I was trying). But I have finally found a regime that works perfectly for my skin and keeps my breakouts and congestion under control.

I am a big believer in washing your face morning and night and I find my results are always better when I follow a strict routine for my skin.

Here is my morning and night regime with a few little tips for you guys to try as well.

STEP ONE:
SKINSTITUT GENTLE CLEANSER

This cleanser by Skinstitut is hands down one of the best gel cleansers I have ever used. I have always struggled to find a product that takes all my makeup off in one wash but I can confidently say that this one does without leaving my skin feeling tight and irritated.
I start by wetting my face with warm water and using a 10c piece sized amount I gently massage the gentle cleaner into my skin. After about 1 minutes of massaging the product into my skin I wash it away with warm water.

STEP TWO:
SKINSTITUT GYLOCOLIC CLEANSER 12%

This product plays a big role in my routine. I stopped using it for a few weeks and my skin felt so congested and I was getting small breakouts all over my face.
After washing away the gentle cleanser I take a 5c piece amount of the Glyocolic cleanser and start to massage it into my face. I take extra care with this step and really massage it into my skin, almost as if I'm giving myself a face massage.  Personally I think it is really important to take your time with this step so your skin can reap all the benefits form the cleanser.

STEP THREE:
SKINSTITUT GLYCOLIC SCRUB 14%

I absolutely love a good exfoliater and this one has been amazing. I struggle with blackheads around my nose, the glycol scrub always leaves my skin feeling smooth and reduces my blackheads and congestion. I only use this product twice a week (usually Sundays and thursdays).
Using a 5c piece size of products I start by massaging the product into my chin/ jaw line and slowly work my up my face. Always be careful around your nose when using a scrub/ any cleanser. It is a sensitive area and if you scrub too hard it can cause permanent redness/broken capillaries.

STEP FOUR:
SKINSTITUT HYDRATING MASK

I have only just recently started using the face mask but my skin was feeling so dehydrated front the weather and this has worked a treat. My skin does not look as dull and any dry patches are always left feeling hydrated and smooth.
Directly after my cleansing routine I towel dry my face and i evenly blend the mask into my skin. Leave on for 10-20 minutes then wash away with warm water.

STEP FIVE:
SKINSTITUT EVEN BLEND SERUM

My skin has always been quite red and uneven in some areas so I was always searching for new serums/oils to reduce any discolouration as much as possible.
Using half a 5c piece amount I gently massage the product into my skin. I am careful not to massage the serum to close to my eyes as that is an extra sensitive area. Personally I like to only use the even blend serum at night time before bed.

STEP SIX:
SKINSTITUT MOISTURE DEFENCE- oily

Having oily skin  it was always so daunting applying moisturiser as it would feel too thick and heavy for my skin. Ever since trying the moisture defence for oily skin this is now my favourite step of my routine. It sit perfectly under my makeup and my face never feels heavy after applying.
Using half a 5c piece amount, I gently massage the product into my skin. If I am applying makeup directly after I let the moisturiser settle into my skin for at least 5 minutes. Apply morning and night.

STEP SEVEN:
SKINSTITUTAGE DEFENCE 50+

This is a new step to my routine which I am still getting used to but I am a huge believer and taking care of your skin properly at a young age. Our face is constantly exposed to the sun and every skin expert I have ever been to has told me to wear sunscreen on my face everyday.
After moisturising I apply a pea sized amount of sunscreen to my skin and gently massage.
